I have used one now for 10+ seasons. Would not hunt without a GPS collar on my dogs. My bells are all shelf items. No sounds except a buzz or a beep/buzz when the GPS detects the dog is on point.

Its handled deep snow surprising well and so far the slush pockets with heavy snow I’ve encountered I was able to float over the top and not get stuck. Slush with no snow pack on top I’m guessing it won’t do well, but I haven’t encountered it.

Some snow cover on the ice is certainly way better than no snow and glare ice. Towing a heavy train up a steep ramp all depends on how much traction you have under the dogs track. My ramps here are just lose stone and don’t offer much traction.
